Labor Day at LTM cont.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Monday's MX pictures. I just had to take a break and give every rider from that race a huge round of applause. Not everyone had a great day on the track, but from this side of the camera you all looked awesome. It was some of the best racing overall I've seen all year. Hopefully I've captured the right moment for each of you. I can't begin to mention every rider who stood out this weekend. There are way too many and some I'm not even sure of names.

It's a short week and a busy one for me so pictures here in the blog will have to wait a little while. Check back and I'll try to post up some of my favorite shots in a few days. Meanwhile once everything is up on the web site tomorrow take a look at other racers pics besides your own. Notice their form, speed, style, and grace. Yes, grace. Racing can be very graceful when you get it right. You guys and gals are getting it right. Pat yourself on the back and keep it up!

Labor Day Weekend at LTM

Saturday the grass track was in terrific shape. Dark clouds and occasional sprinkles made for difficult shooting, but I've been through worse. Racing was hot. Kevin Shull sure gave Donnie Ockerman a run for the day! An mx'er who hasn't been on a quad in probably a couple months vs. a hare racer with a few years on him. ( I won't say how many;) What a show they put on! Darian Lindsey, Quintin Jones, Kyle Carrico, Tucker Thrower, Keeze Carver, Aaron Thompson, and some new faces in the Lopez family were great to watch. Spoke with Mr. Lopez briefly Saturday. Said he raced at LTM some 20+ years ago and brought the kids down from Wisconsin (I think) to give it a go. Carry on LTM! I hope that one day some of today's kids can bring theirs back to Casey to carry on the tradition of Midwest racing.

Hare Scramble was a challenge as always for me. I haven't started on those pictures just yet, but I think I did better with the flash this time. Not something I do a great deal of and still getting the hang of it. Please let me know if it bothers the racers! The 50's were again some of the best racing all day.

Sunday found the mx track a bit worn down and dry, but I was very happy to see many racers stuck around for the final day. My favorite for the day was probably Jacob Lynch. He was flying until his throttle cable broke. Tough luck!

A few injuries on both tracks and also off the track this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Heal quickly.

UPDATE: Saturday's pictures are uploading now. Have to give props to a couple more racers I forgot: Chance Trigalet and whoever #741 was (didn't get a race roster). Last, but not at all least: Carter Gordon went 6-7 for the weekend. Awesome! And those new MotoFab/ProAction/PBP graphics are pretty sweet too.

Indiana State Race; Trojan Raceway

PBP traveled to Trojan Raceway this past weekend for Round 2 of the Indiana State Race Series. What a great track and facilities! Check out spectator hill; bleacher seating and lots of room for lawn chairs. You can view pretty much the entire track from there.

Trojan is a great mix of sand/soil that allows for excellent ruts and breaking bumps. But not too tough for the beginning racers.
Starts were clean for all the first motos that I caught on Sunday. No big crashes thankfully!
Nice air! Battled the sun and backgrounds getting good air shots. Will have to work on that next time.
Quads, quads, everywhere! Many of my last races have seen a huge drop in quad turnout. Not so at Trojan. Especially the mini quad kids. Lots of great talent in there that I will surely be watching in the future.

I did manage to get some decent air shots. Like I said, the sun wasn't in my favor to shoot these from the other side. This angle got the trees in the background and the rider would just blend in too much.

Corners are always my favorites. Air is cool and fun, but races are won or lost in the corners. Watch your form because you can bet I am!

A good showing in the 65's, 85's and mini classes. This is where potential stars first show up. Keep an eye on these kids. You never know how far they will take it.
At every race there is usually one or two riders who just stand out to me through the lens. Dakota Robins was one of those this time. He was a joy to shoot and I hope that I was able to show his skills in pictures. Perfect form, consistent, and fast. Not to mention a really nice kid. Dakota came up after the races to thank me for coming out and taking pictures of them. My pleasure!
The hat is off to Reads for a perfect track and program. They keep things moving along with very little down time. I was amazed that they got through 20 races as quickly as they did. Check out the Reads tracks; you won't be disappointed!
PBP will be at Hangtime on Sept. 19/20 for MX and GP races. That is another great Reads track. If you like air that is the track to hit! Wanna bet Kopsho will be doing some more kisses for me?

Stateline Summer Series

I headed over to Crossroads for practice and racing this past weekend. Davis Uphoff put on quite a show Saturday. Too bad his Sunday was cut short with a getoff and trip to the ER. All is well; nothing broken, just banged up a bit. We'll see him back on the track soon I'm sure.

Only a handful of quads again. Our own Shelby Thompson airing out the KTM. Shelby got to have a run at TT racing recently and I think she's hooked. I'm game; just let me know when and where.

Cody Stum and Dalton Forrester were battling it out all day long. I must admit I don't think I did either one of them justice in pictures this time. They sure made this gal work for it. Great racing guys. Hold that line Chuck; they're comin' through!

A couple little racers I've been keeping a close eye on: #85 Dalton Evans and Kennedy Kimmel #38. Dalton and Ben "B-Money" Butler put on a heck of a race. Kennedy is one to watch too. Not many girls out on the track lately, but she's keeping up with the guys just fine.

My sponsored rider Cody McMurray is down at Lorretta's helping out and cheering on his Uncle Mike. I wish Mike Sulivan a sucessful run in the Vet 35 plus class. I think Cody's dad decided I needed a little "McMurray style" in Cody's absence:)

Keeze Carver on the gas in the bottom corner. What else is there to say, it's Keeze. He only knows one gear: balls out.
