Crossroads Saturday

Mother Nature broke out the heat and so did the racers this past weekend. Thankfully the rains missed CRMX and racers could get a chance to get some seat time prior to the Regional.
Brayden Childess was flying in the 50 Sr. class. But not far behind was.....
rookie racer Clayton Whyers. I saw Clayton for the first time at Hoosier Hilltoppers and was impressed with his riding on the slick clay conditions that day. He chased Brayden both days at CR and was gaining ground with each race. Keep it up!

Poor Tucker Thrower had been plaqued with bike problems all week. Thanks to the Boyd's for keeping Tucker on the track.

I just love "racer eyes".

Yes Ryan, I got ya! Looking good as always.

Derrek Boyd, Trevor Lawence, and Quentin Jones put on a heck of a show all day.

Thanks to Crossroads staff for an excellent weekend of racing. We'll be back there for the Regional June 25-27.

New track: Hoosier Hilltoppers

I got word late Saturday night that Backwoods MX had cancelled for Sunday. A quick check around the web to find another race came up with Hoosier Hilltoppers. IVORME is one group I'm having a difficult time catching up with this year. I love vintage bikes! Ah, Honda Elsnore 125. This rider had me missing sponsored rider Stan Stables. Put a tye-die shirt and work gloves on the guy and he'd be his twin!

I almost didn't put this picture up. First time racer in practice, but dad and I could not convince him to go back out. Maybe this will help. Come on little dude. You can do it!

These two put on quite a show the first race. Awesome young riders.

Some high flying Hoosier Hilltoppers action.

Knees in, elbows up, and looking ahead. Nice form.

How this guy stayed so clean is beyond me. Well, helps when you're out in front.
Cloudy skies and rain make for a difficult day behind the camera. I really want to get back to this track under better weather conditions. Very nice place, mostly natural terrain, clean, and great racing. What more could you ask for?
